Say hello to Nico!

Well, we went and did it again!
Nico is the latest addition to the pack, getting us back to four dogs after the loss of Lucy back in Sept.
Nico is a 12 year old toy poodle from the Erie Humane society. We went in to groom her and ended up taking her home for keeps.
Nico's mom had Altzheimers and needed a new home. She only weighed six pounds when we got her and her breath was enough to knock Ying Li over.
First goal was to get her teeth fixed up, and so off she went and unfortunately she had to lose a lot of them, but she bounced right back and is now chewing heartily with the few teeth she has left. What a difference, as she is now happy and playful and eating like a hog.
We are amazed at how quickly she fit in with the other kids. She wanted to sleep in the bed from the get go, and nobody put up much of a stink about it. She is perfectly house trained, loves to walk, ride in the car and bark, so she is a perfect fit for this bunch.
Today was another warm day, so Nancy put everyone in the car and met me at the beach after work and we had the beach to ourselves. I'm always amazed that that beautiful peninsula is completely empty during the winter and early spring. More beach for us, I say! Well Nico thought the beach was great to say the least, and 50 degrees this time of year is excellent.
Sorry for the dearth of posts lately. I have a bunch of drafts in the pipeline, so be on the look out.
